Last year Oasis announced a series of comeback gigs with a whopping 5 scheduled for their hometown Manchester.
Unsurprisingly Manchester is absolutely buzzing and after the first shows last weekend we’ve seen a huge increase in demand for our amazing Manchester escorts.
Oasis’ comeback tour is hitting its peak in Manchester itself with 5 sold out gigs at Heaton park on the 11th, 12th, 16th, 19th and 20th of August. Despite the overall success of the shows, it's not all been sunshiiiine (sorry). The first two shows saw the inception of “Gallagher hill” - a spot in Heaton park outside of the ticketed area where ticketless fans managed to sneak a peak of the iconic duo. Manchester council have now erected steel fences to cut Gallagher Hill off and prevent anyone from… stealing the outdoor concert?
There’s also been reports of heartbroken fans who spent hundreds of pounds on second hand tickets only to be refused entry on the day because the tickets were fakes or had been sold to multiple parties and already used to enter. Ouch.
In the first two nights alone our phones have been practically ringing off the hook with local punters out for a good time and traveling brit pop lovers.
Interestingly we’ve noticed that our bookings have been coming in much later in the night in general. Presumably from actual attendees of the shows. And with 80,000 fans attending each night, the city’s nightlife has been booming.
It’s estimated that the events will bring around £15 million in revenue into the city although it’s hard to tell whether this stat includes the adult industry (probably not). One of the easiest ways to see the impact is in the city’s accommodation.
Average Airbnb rates are reportedly up over 350%, averaging over £450 a night on the nights of the shows and Premier Inn rooms are seen priced at as much as £349 per night.
